INGREDIENTS
100gr DODONI sheep’s yoghurt
1 kg lean ground beef
1 cup bread crumbs
1 tablespoon parsley
1 tablespoon DODONI kefalotyri cheese, grated
salt and pepper
1 egg, beaten
half onion, chopped
1/4 cup olive oil
5 tomatoes, grated
1 bay leaf
basil leaves

PREPARATION
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, bread crumbs, parsley, kefalotyri, black pepper, garlic powder and beaten egg. Mix well and form into 12 balls. Store, covered, in refrigerator until needed.

EXECUTION 
In a large saucepan over medium heat, saute onion and garlic in olive oil until onion is translucent. Stir in tomatoes, salt and bay leaf. Cover, reduce heat to low, and simmer 90 minutes. Stir in basil and meatballs and simmer 30 minutes more. Serve with yoghurt on top.
